This pic is before baking. |
For this I used 2 quarts of apple pie filling. Sometimes I used the canned, it is just what I have in the pantry. Pour the apples into a baking dish.
Topping: Melt 1 cube butter or margarine and stir in one box of dry chocolate cake mix. Mix well and crumble on top of pie filling.
Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes. This is also great in the Dutch oven when you are camping.
This is how it looks fresh from the oven. |
Thanks for Buzzing by,
I make something similar but with spice cake mix! We call it 'dump cake' - not an appetizing name, but it's delicious!
ReplyDeleteI haven't ever made it with spice cake mix, I bet it is good. Do you still use apples?
DeleteChocolate and apples - I do not think I have ever tried that combo - I am going to though!

ReplyDeleteWe love to go camping, and when we go this is about as much cooking as we do, with the exception of BBQing. I make everything ahead of time.
