Snickerdoodle Cookies
Snickerdoodle Cookies
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tarter
1 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 deg. Mix shortening, butter, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs thoroughly. Blend flour, tarter, soda, and salt. Stir flour mixture into egg mixture. Shape into balls about 1 inch in diameter. Put sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl and roll balls in the sugar mixture. Place on a cookie sheet. Bake until the cookies become flat and a light brown. It takes around 8 minutes to bake.
This makes about 6 dozen cookies. My daughter is the best little cookie maker in the world. She 4 times this recipe and we quickly are asking her for more!!
