These are my husbands favorite cookies, he even made them. They are delicious and always a hit!
3 cups shortening
6 eggs
1 Tbsp. soda
1 Tbsp. vanilla
3 cups granulated sugar
6 cups flour
1 1/2 tea. salt
3 cups chocolate chips ~ these have some holiday chocolate chips in for Christmas.
3 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 tea. baking powder
6 cups rolled oats
nuts (optional)
Blend shortening with sugars; add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, soda and salt; add to creamy mixture, stirring by spoon.
Add oats, vanilla and chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
