English Trifle

English Trifle

2 loaves sponge cake
1 large package red jello (our favorite is raspberry)
2 cups hot water
2 large packages instant vanilla pudding
2 cups each fresh or frozen fruits
strawberries
blackberries
raspberries
1 quart heavy whipping cream

Choose a deep crystal bowl to make it attractive when serving. It is said by the English you can eat it with your eyes. Any deep bowl will do.
Cut cake into small bite size pieces and place in a bowl.
Pour 2 cups boiling water over jello and dissolve, then pour jello water over the cake and stir so it is evenly coated.
Make pudding according to directions and set aside.
Whip cream, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla and set aside.
Now put it all together.....
Place about 1/3 of cake in the bottom of serving bowl. Then some pudding, then some cream, then some berries and just keep going in the same order over and over and top with berries.
Ta Ta Dah!!!
You have one of my families favorite desserts!!

Some people make it with banana's, pineapple, any choice of fruit that is your favorite.
Our family loves berries, berries, and more berries!
Hope you enjoy it!!
