Hot Tamale Pie

6 cups boiling water
2 cups Corn-meal
2 Tablespoons Cooking Fat
1 pound Hamburger
1 onion, Chopped
1/2 Green Pepper, Chopped
2 cups canned Tomatoes
Salt and Pepper to taste
Chili Powder to taste

Sift corn-meal slowly into rapidly boiling water, stirring constantly until thick.  Brown hamburger, onion , and green pepper in hot fat.  Add tomatoes.  Season to taste.  Simmer 10 minutes.  Fill well oiled baking dish with alternate layers of corn-meal mush and meat mixture.  Bake in hot oven (400 degrees) for 20 minutes.  Serve hot.
