5 teaspoons soda
1 quart applesauce
5 cups flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 cups raisins
1 cup nuts
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 pk fruit mix

Instructions:

Put flour, fruit, nuts and raisins in a bowl before adding to dough.  Place a small pan of water in oven while baking.
Bake in a greased and floured baking dish at 375 until a toothpick comes out clean.

I know this recipe as 'my' Mom's applesauce cake.  It is so good!! My Mom's applesauce cake is out of this world good!!  Recently I found out it is my great-grandmothers fruit cake.  My hubby likes fruit cake so I got the recipe from my mom and found that it is very popular for different tastes!  So, if you want a yummy fruit cake......here you go!  If you want a delicious applesauce cake leave the fruit out and it is so yummy.  Either way it is a moist cake that is better on day 2 than 1.  My Mom tweeks the recipe just a little for another special effect that I will share on another baking day.
Hope you enjoy!!
